Facility Programming and Consulting provided an architectural program of requirements for new apartments for members of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston community.  The new apartments were planned as a “university village”: a safe, healthy, and pedestrian friendly community integrating a variety of student life needs including apartments, outdoor courtyards, green space, outdoor recreation space, a recreation center, and a child development center.  The program also reflected the University’s commitment to using sustainable design and construction methods.

Facility Programming and Consulting also analyzed the market and feasibility of the apartment construction.  Project concepts outlined in the architectural program were translated into specific goals and requirements.

A variety of options was developed, each designed to test the feasibility of various scenarios and their relative success in meeting the goals and requirements.  The analysis is specific to the questions of defining and measuring the constraints of the marketplace, affordability, market demand, consumer preferences, and measuring the projected financial performance of the project.
